HEALTH & SAFETY

Swing in the South Bay is committed to creating an inclusive and safe space for everyone.

Vaccine Policy:
Following state and local guidelines, attendees will not be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination. 
That being said, we do recommend everyone be up to date on their vaccinations! 

Mask Policy: Masks will be optional for all event activities. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask we encourage you to do so.

​​Health Policy: If, for any reason, you are not feeling well, have any Covid, flu or cold symptoms, or have a fever within 48 hours prior to the event, please stay home! We will gladly refund your registration fee and your fellow dancers and community will thank you for helping to keep us as safe and healthy as possible! 

Code of Conduct: Swing in the South Bay is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. 

Be kind to each other, our dance pros, event staff and volunteers!

We want everyone to feel comfortable attending our event, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, physical appearance, ability, ethnicity, religion, nationality, or other personal circumstance. Social dancing should always feel safe. It is an individual choice of whom one consents to dance with, whether to lead, follow, or switch roles during the dance and to change partners or not, with partner consent!

If someone makes you feel uncomfortable, says something inappropriate, touches you without consent, or hurts you in any way, please say “no” or “stop.” You have the right to turn down an invitation to dance, or to stop interacting immediately with someone who mistreats you or ignores your wishes. You do not have to give a reason. If someone says “no” or “stop” to you, honor their request immediately. If someone turns down your invitation to dance, it's ok! you are not entitled to a dance with anyone. If you decline a dance with someone, please do so politely. a simple "no, thank you", should suffice.

Thanking your partner after a dance is always appreciated. However, unsolicited feedback, advice, teaching, criticism, or comments about someone's dance or physical appearance is inappropriate.

No harassment or micro aggressions of any kind will be tolerated.  Any offensive comments, sexual propositions, refusal to use proper names or pronouns, unwelcome photography or videography, displays of sexual imagery, unwanted physical contact, physical intimidation, verbal abuse, disruption of workshops or competitions, or other harassment or abuse will not be tolerated. 


If an attendee is behaving in an inappropriate way or violating our code of conduct ,please notify a staff member immediately.

We reserve the right to handle any violations of this code of conduct as we deem necessary, including expulsion from the event without a refund.
